teamed with Eddie Marlin against the Infernos. The change didn't last long and in a few weeks Lawler was back to his rulebreaking

ever for the promotion. It's also when promoter Jerry Jarrett realized what a hot ticket Jerry Lawler was. This feud with
Fargo was considered Jackie passing the torch to the younger Lawler. Over the next several weeks, the attendance numbers were 11,407,
10,535 11,700, 10,600, 10,700, 11,599 & 10,776. Simply amazing numbers.

Strong Summer Leads To Title Match
Because of the huge summer Jerry Lawler had, promoter Jerry Jarrett had lined up a NWA World title shot for him against
Jack Brisco. This was Lawler's first world title match and he ended up getting dq'd in the end.
